Data collected, processed and used with consent
When you buy our products, or create a customer account, you are obliged to enter certain personal details (your full name, e-mail address and your address if applicable). We use this information solely to offer you our services (delivery of products, managing customer bank details, etc.), and it is only processed and stored for this purpose. This data will never be stored for any longer than is allowed by law (though there may also be a legal obligation to store certain data).
Nevertheless, you can also visit our website without entering any of the personal data listed above; if you want to browse our product range without making a binding purchase, for example. Here we will only store your website usage data (e.g. date/time of visit, internet service provider) in so-called server log files, so that we can keep our website running smoothly and optimise our offering. IP addresses are collected and stored in anonymised form only, by shortening the last three (3) numbers.
Data transfers to an e-commerce partner or service provider
When you buy our products from our online store, you are obliged to choose an e-commerce partner during the ordering process, as these offer Silhouette specific services in relation to the online sales of products. Silhouette will send your full name to your chosen e-commerce partner only. If you wish to take advantage of certain services in relation to a contract with Silhouette, your postal address may also be sent to the e-commerce partner that administers them (if you have not already sent it yourself). This is strictly necessary for maintaining the structure and functionality of our online store, and therefore also for concluding a contract with Silhouette.
To make a warranty claim for defective goods, you also have the option – besides sending Silhouette an informal note – to (i) hand them over to your e-commerce partner in person (ii) send them by post to the business address of your e-commerce partner. If the latter, Silhouette will send your full name and postal address solely to the e-commerce partner in question. All Silhouette’s e-commerce partners are bound by our privacy practices and will handle your personal data with the utmost confidentiality. Your e-commerce partner will never pass on your data to third parties without your express permission, or for any purpose other than to meet their obligations towards Silhouette.
When choosing the instant bank transfer option, you will be redirected to the website of the online provider SOFORT GmbH, Theresienhöhe 12, 80339 Munich, Germany after submitting your order. After you have been verified, your personal data and account details will be sent to SOFORT GmbH. This information will be used by SOFORT GmbH to enable it – amongst other things - to check your balance. We have no control over the transfer of this data. Please therefore refer to the privacy guidelines of SOFORT GmbH, which you will be specifically advised about when using the service.
When choosing the credit card payment option, you will be sending your credit card details to us when you place your order. We will then ask the credit card company to initiate the payment transaction. The payment transaction is carried out automatically by the credit card company and your card will be charged. At the same time, certain data will be sent to the relevant credit card company and processed. We have absolutely no control over this process.
On our website you have the option of signing up to the Silhouette newsletter. To do so, you will need to submit at least your e-mail address. The Silhouette newsletter keeps you up to date with the latest Silhouette products and industry trends and will only be sent to the e-mail addresses provided. If you no longer want to receive the newsletter, you can of course unsubscribe at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe from newsletter" button after you receive it. The data stored for the purposes of sending the newsletter will be deleted – as long as we are not legally required to do otherwise – after unsubscribing. We will never send you electronic marketing without your prior consent (registration).
